Benjamin Moore's bestselling red paint colors

Trends tend to be fascinating — I think most of us are inherently interested in what others find interesting — and if you're paint-obsessed like me, it's fun to keep a eye on Benjamin Moore's bestsellers page.

The company updates this list frequently, and colors jostle for position. Two months ago, for example, Benjamin Moore Merlot Red and Moroccan Red were bestsellers; today, they've been pushed aside in favor of Deep Rose and Hodley Red.

Bestselling red paint colors,

Some warhorse colors remain permanently popular, though, including straight-up-now-tell-me Benjamin Moore Red 2000-10.

I couldn't find any good interior shots of this color, but it's very to similar to Million Dollar Red:

Another bestseller is Benjamin Moore Raspberry Truffle, which is used in the upper left of the bookcase, below. The center stripe is Benjamin Moore Arroyo RedThe right corner is painted two shades: Benjamin Moore Exotic Red in the lower part, and Benjamin Moore Million Dollar Red in the upper. The vintage Paul McCobb chairs are painted Benjamin Moore Aruba Blue.

Arroyo Red is very similar to Benjamin Moore Dinner Party, another bestselling red:

Finally, Benjamin Moore Hodley RedSweet Rosy Brown, and Boston Brick are all very similar, but I couldn't track down decent interior shots of any of them. But they're a close match to Benjamin Moore Burnt Russet, below:

A few of my favorites

Benjamin Moore Heritage Red — this color has been discontinued, but if you ask for it at the paint store, they might still have the formula stored electronically. Designer Ken Fulk used Heritage Red for the front door of this San Francisco Victorian:

Designer Christopher Maya used Heritage Red in this dining room:

This kitchen island, below, is painted Heritage Red; the walls are Benjamin Moore Homestead Green, and the ceiling is Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue:

Benjamin Moore Salsa — I've had a thing for this color ever since seeing it here:

  1. Thanks for this I've been looking around for a good color to paint my house and these are beautiful shades of red!
